Accommodations
Since our first trip together in Petén, Max and I have stayed at Hotel Mon Ami with our good friend Santiago Billy. A couple years ago, his neighbors up the hill created the beautiful Alice Guesthouse. Their rooms are mostly bungalows, but there are also two small dorms, and even some camping spots.
We will be covering the cost for anyone staying at these bungalow-style guesthouses for the nights of Friday, July 12th and Saturday, July 13th. We'll assign rooms and let you know. Unfortunately, you won't get to choose between Mon Ami and Alice, we will need to organize people based on who all is coming. Both places are nearly identical in terms of quality of the rooms - be aware there is no AC, but they do have hot water, fans, and comfortable beds.
For anyone who would like to stay at a more upscale place (or if you really need AC) we definitely recommend Gringo Perdido, about 1 km away. And there are a number of other options of varying price and distance from where the Époustifailles/Espoustival events will take place, we can help you find something suitable if you need.
*For anyone who wants to stay longer than just the nights of the 12th and 13th (remember there's a trip to Tikal on Monday the 15th!) there will be a nightly rate - TBA.
